Adding meta description to a blog/website is very important. For any blog it is very important to add quality meta description, not only for Blogger blog. The meta description describes the content of your blog. Meta description of your Blogger blog will appear as snippet in search results when any one type your blog URL.

How to Add meta description to your Blogger blog :

Meta description describes the content of your blog and helps search engines understand what your blog is about. Blogger provides a Description option, through which you can add meta description to your Blogger. However, you need to enable meta description on your Blogger before you can add it to your blog and individual posts.

Follow below steps to add meta description to your Blogger blog

Step 1 : Go to Blogger Dashboard

Step 2 : Click on Settings

Step 3 : Click on Search Preferences under Settings

Under meta tags , click on edit next to description

Click on Yes radio button next to enable search description?

Step 4 : Enter meta description in the Description text box.

Step 5 : Click on Save changes.

You can add a meta description to any Blogger blog using these steps. You can also add a meta description to each post and page on your Blogger blog. Once you enable search description on your Blogger, all posts and pages will have a search description option. You can find the search description option below the Posts settings on the right side of your post editor. You can add a meta description to your blog posts and pages while publishing or after publishing. Therefore, after adding a meta description to your blog, add a meta description to all posts in your Blogger for better results.

After adding a meta description to your blog, it should appear in search results as a snippet. If the meta description does not appear in search results, you can add it using meta tags in your Blogger template.

If the meta description still does not appear in search results, then add below code to your Blogger template and check again.
