Submit a sitemap to Google webmaster tools

Sitemap: Sitemap is a list of pages of a website/blog. Sitemaps used to inform to the search engines about the pages available on your blog for crawling. To improve your blog indexing, it is better to add your blog sitemap to Google search engines. You can use Google webmaster tools(Google Search Console) to submit your blog sitemap.

Not only for Google, submit your blog sitemap to all major search engines. In this post I'm going to show you how to submit your blog sitemap to Google search engine using Google Webmaster Tool.

How to submit a sitemap to Google webmaster tools( Google Search Console):

You can submit your blog sitemap to Google search engine, only through Google webmaster tools. To know your blog statistics report Google analytic is available. But to submit site map to Google search engine you should use Google webmaster tools. The main aim of the submitting sitemap is to help the search engine in crawling your site/log.

To submit sitemap, first you have to create sitemap for your blog. Use sitemap creation tools to create sitemap and submit it to Google webmaster tools.

Follow below steps to submit your blog sitemap to Google Search Console:

Step 1 : Log into Google Webmaster tools

Step 2 : Click on crawl tab on left side.

Step 3 : Under crawl click on sitemaps

Step 4 : Click on ADD/TEST SITEMAP button

Step 5 : Add site map in the opened box and click on submit sitemap.

That's it, sitemap submission is completed. After submitting your blog sitemap, wait for some time to see the full report about how many pages are indexed. Google webmaster will show you all the information about your blog post indexing. It will show your blog posts index status. If any error related to blog indexing occurred, it will display on  your Google webmaster dashboard then you can easily rectify those errors related to indexing. Submitting a blog sitemap to Google webmaster tools is very important.
