How To Add Addon Domain To Bluehost

After purchasing web hosting from BlueHost, the next step is to add your domain name to your BlueHost account. You can do this by using the "Addon domain" option in your BlueHost hosting account.

BlueHost provides a free domain name with their hosting package. If you have purchased BlueHost hosting with a free domain name, you don't need to add that free domain to your hosting account. You only need to add domains that are outside of your hosting account. In this post, I will guide you on how to add an Addon domain to your BlueHost account.

You can add any domain name that you have purchased from domain name registrars such as GoDaddy, Namecheap, Bigrock, and so on.

How to add Addon domain to your BlueHost hoting account:

You can add multiple domains to your hosting account only if you have unlimited hosting. So if you want to host multiple websites on your hosting account, buy an unlimited hosting plan from BlueHost.

One of the most suitable plans to host unlimited websites is the "Plus Shared Hosting" plan in BlueHost. Purchase the "Plus" package in the BlueHost shared hosting plan. It's easy to add Addon domains to your BlueHost account.

Follow below steps to add Addon domains to your BlueHost hosting account:

Step 1 :  Login to your BlueHost hosting account

Step 2 : Click on cPanel and again click on Addon Domains under Domain Management

Step 3 :  Now you can choose "Use a domain name that is already associated with your account" if you have a domain name associated with your account.

Alternatively, you can choose "Use a domain name that is not already associated with your account." If you choose the second option, enter the domain name without "www."

Step 4 : Now it shows "Verify Ownership." Before adding a domain name to your hosting account, it's important to assign name servers to your domain name. If you have already assigned name servers, you may not see the "Verify Ownership" options. However, if you haven't assigned name servers to your domain, you need to add them in order to verify ownership or follow any other verification options provided.

Step 5 :  Now, select "Addon Domain" and then choose the directory for your addon domain by selecting an option from the "Choose Addon Directory and Sub-domain" section. Once you have made your selection, click on "Assign this domain" to complete the process.

Like this, you can add any domain name to your BlueHost hosting account. Creating a directory for your domain is important.

After adding a domain name to your hosting account, the next step is to install WordPress. In the next post, I will show you how to install WordPress on your BlueHost account. Once WordPress is installed, you can start blogging.
