Set Custom Page Not Found Message in Blogger

Custom 404 (Page Not Found) error page for Blogger :
404 error page indicates that the page doesn't exist on your blog/website. Generally broken links are formed due to deletion of posts or changing post URLs. Broken links will display on Google search results even after deleting links from your blog. If any visitor click on the broken links then it shows error message like "404 page not found". If your blog visitor see this error message, he may get disappoint and simply try to close your blog immediately. 

So to avoid this you have to set Custom Page Not Found Message in Blogger. This Custom Page Not Found Message gives clarification to visitors about the error page. By default Custom Page Not Found Message will not appear on your Blogger, so you have to create a custom 404 error page for your Blogger blog.

How to Set Custom Page Not Found(404 error) Message in Blogger:

Blogger introduced Custom Page Not Found option to set custom 404 error(page not found) message in your Blogger blogs. Before setting 404 error page to your Blogger, first you have to create a custom 404 error (page not found) page for your Blogger. One of the best way to create a 404 error page is, use your post editor. I.e Click on Posts and click on New post and now click on HTML to turn into HTML mode and create 404 error page as you like using simple HTML.

Follow Below Steps to Set Custom Page Not Found(404 error) Message in Blogger Blog

Step 1 : Go to Blogger Dashboard

Step 2 : Click on Settings and Click on Search preferences

Step 3 : Under Errors and redirections and Click on edit corresponding to Custom Page Not Found

Step 4 : Then it will open new text window, now enter your Custom Page Not Found message
              Like  " Sorry, the page you were looking for does not exist in this blog" 

Step 5 : Finally click on Save changes button to save Custom Page Not Found message.

After adding your own custom page not found massage to your Blogger blog, default page not found error message should replace with your own custom page not found message. As said in step 4 if you add "Sorry, the page you were looking for does not exist" to your Custom Page Not Found message box , when ever you open broken link, then it will display " Sorry, the page you were looking for does not exist "  message.
