Set Custom Page Not Found Message in Blogger

Custom 404 (Page Not Found) error page for Blogger :
A 404 error page indicates that a webpage doesn't exist on your website or blog. Broken links are often the cause of 404 errors, usually due to deleted or changed post URLs. These broken links can still appear on Google search results, and if a visitor clicks on them, they will see an error message like "404 page not found." This can be disappointing for visitors and may lead them to leave your blog.

To avoid this, you can set up a custom page not found message in Blogger. This message will give visitors clarification about the error page. By default, Blogger does not have a custom page not found message, so you need to create one for your blog.

How to Set Custom Page Not Found(404 error) Message in Blogger:

Blogger has introduced the Custom Page Not Found option, which allows you to set a custom 404 error (page not found) message in your Blogger blog. However, before you can set a 404 error page, you need to create a custom 404 error (page not found) page for your blog. One of the best ways to create a 404 error page is to use your post editor. Simply click on "Posts", then "New post", and click on HTML to switch to HTML mode. From there, you can create your own 404 error page using simple HTML.

In this post, I will show you how to set your own custom Page Not Found (404 error) message in your Blogger blog. In a later post, I will provide instructions on how to create a custom Page Not Found (404 error) page for your blog.

Follow Below Steps to Set Custom Page Not Found(404 error) Message in Blogger Blog

Step 1 : Go to Blogger Dashboard

Step 2 : Click on Settings and Click on Search preferences

Step 3 : Under Errors and redirections and Click on edit corresponding to Custom Page Not Found

Step 4 : Then it will open new text window, now enter your Custom Page Not Found message
Like  " Sorry, the page you were looking for does not exist in this blog"

Step 5 : Finally click on Save changes button to save Custom Page Not Found message.

After you have added your custom page not found message to your Blogger blog, the default page not found error message should be replaced by your custom page not found message. If you followed step 4 and added the message "Sorry, the page you were looking for does not exist" to your Custom Page Not Found message box, then whenever a visitor clicks on a broken link, they will see the message "Sorry, the page you were looking for does not exist".
